Moth Madness at the Garth and Jerri Frehner Museum of Natural History, Iron County, UT

The Garth and Jerri Frehner Museum of Natural History is proud to announce “Moth Madness 2013,” as part of their National Moth Week events. The Museum is part of Southern Utah University. During Moth Madness participants will learn why moths are attracted to light at night as participants assist Dr. Jackie Grant in a night time field survey of the moths of southern Utah. Daytime participants will learn about the biology of caterpillars as they assist Dr. Grant with a caterpillar survey in Iron County. Visitors to the Garth and Jerri Frehner Museum of Natural History will learn about the life history of moths and how they differ from butterflies. Children under the age of twelve can enter the moth and caterpillar coloring contest.
