The Delaware caterpillar walk was organized by the Society of Natural History of Delaware, and was led by Brian Cutting from the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology, at the University of Delaware. About 40 people of all ages attended the event. Many lepidoptera species in various life stages including the well camouflaged ‘curve-lined angle’ and more brightly colored Polyphemus, both pictured here. Brian discussed how to find caterpillars, as well as their habitat requirements and important ecological role.
