National Moth Week has been accepted for inclusion in the 2015 edition of Chase’s Calendar of Events, available in late September 2014.
In responding to our initial inquiry, Editor-in-Chief Holly McGuire said NMW is “the kind of entry we want in Chase’s.” She also admitted to being “a big moth fan.” (We love that!)
Published by McGraw-Hill Education, Chase’s is a comprehensive reference containing thousands of special events, holidays, federal and state observances, historic anniversaries and other annually occurring events. It is a mainstay of libraries, journalists, community organizations, publicists and marketers, who use it to identify special dates for news coverage, event planning and promotion purposes.
NMW was among “thousands of new entries submitted [each spring] to join the more than 12,000 items that make up each year’s book.” Our entry for NMW 2015, July 18-26, will include a description of NMW, our web address and contact information.
We’re excited about this opportunity to expand awareness of National Moth Week and increase participation by citizen scientists around the world.
