Postal Officials Offering Moth Week Postmark (July 16, 2013)
East Brunswick, NJ — Local postal officials are helping National Moth Week take flight by offering a specially designed pictorial postmark on Saturday, July 20 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at a temporary philatelic station in Butterfly Park at the corner of Winton Road and Rues Lane. The public is encouraged to bring stamped envelopes, postcards, and other collectibles to Butterfly Park on July 20 to receive the Moth Week pictorial postmark (Pictured). Special U.S. Postal Cancellation to Commemorate National Moth Week (June 2013)
A special U.S. Postal Service commemorative cancellation will mark National Moth Week, July 20-28, a global citizen science project started and run by the Friends of the East Brunswick Environmental Commission.
A temporary U.S. Postal station will be set up in Butterfly Park at Rues Lane and Winton Road, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, the first day of National Moth Week. Area residents can bring stamped envelopes to be cancelled with the commemorative cancellation. Read more
Behind the scenes tours of the National Insect Collection will be offered at the National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C.,July 20-26,during National Moth Week, a global citizen science project that engages moth enthusiasts in observing and documenting moths in their local communities,parks and backyards.
