Winged Tapestries at AMNH

I know I’ve mentioned it on here a few times before but the Winged Tapestries: Moths at Large exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History is absolutely amazing! I went to see it a few weeks ago and was totally blown away by Jim des Rivières photography (seriously, check out his website).

The photos are enormous high-resolution scans of moths, so you can see incredible details in their wing scales, antennae and bodies.

I couldn’t resist taking a photo with the NMW mascot Automeris io!

Relatedly, one of the coolest events for the NMW team this year was that Mr. des Rivières attended our Meadowlands moth night! It was so great to meet him and he is as nice as his photography is awesome.

The exhibit runs through September 29 and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
